About Cayman Islands Baptist Church

Mission Statement

Cayman Islands Baptist Church shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed by reaching out to the lost while nurturing a community of love which inspires Christ growth.

Our Beliefs

• We believe the Bible, as originally written, to be the inspired, inerrant, infallible and authoritative Word of God.
• We believe in one God who has revealed Himself through Jesus Christ, and we trust Him completely with our lives and our eternity! (Hebrews 11:6)
• We believe that salvation is all of God and is ours forever—nothing or no one can separate us from our Lord! Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ who gave Himself for us on the cross for our redemption and who was raised from the dead that He might live His life through us for our sanctification. Ultimately, we will live with Him in eternity—our glorification!
• We believe that the Church is the Body of Christ and that it is composed of all who are united by the Holy Spirit to the risen and ascended Son of God, that by the same Spirit we are all baptized into one body, and thus being members one of another, we are responsible in good conscience to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace, loving one another with a pure heart fervently (Mat. 16:16-18; Acts 2:32-47; Rom. 12:5; 1 Cor. 12:12-27; Eph. 1:20-23; 4:3-10; Col. 3:14-15).
• We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ to judge the world and to receive us into glory.

Our Values

At Cayman Islands Baptist Church, we value:

• Doing everything for the glory of God!

• Spirit-led and God-glorifying worship, using a variety of music styles in an authentic offering of personal and corporate worship.
• Living the Christian life by faith through God's Grace alone.
• A vibrant discipleship program for the purpose of our spiritual growth in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and for the equipping of ourselves for the works of ministry.
• Evangelism ~ reaching people with the Good News of Jesus Christ here in Grand Cayman and throughout the world through involving ourselves individually and as a church in the world missions task.
• Prayer—intercessory, passionate, and first among ministry!
• Ministry to those in need—the poor and the hurting, the helpless and the hopeless.
• Freedom of conscience, soul-competency, the priesthood of every believer, and the essential outcome of those beliefs—a congregational form of church governance as the biblical model for expressing the life of the corporate Body of Christ. We value our relationship to Baptists—we are Baptists, both in beliefs and in tradition—and in particularly, we value our relationship with Caribbean Baptist Fellowship churches and Southern Baptist Convention (USA) churches.
• Loving God and loving people! We want to love the Lord with a whole hearted love and we want to love one another!

Our Values

Our expectation is that God will call and empower us to accomplish things far beyond our meager human resources and ingenuity. Our vision at the present time of what we see God doing in and through Cayman Islands Baptist Church is that we see Him:

• Awakening and nourishing our affection as believers at Cayman Islands Baptist Church for the Lord Jesus until deep passion for Him rules our lives, freeing and empowering us to relate in a Christ-like manner to others and to endure all hardship with hope.
• Leading us to become a congregation filled with Christians who are actively involved in personal evangelism and discipleship that flows from a vibrant relationship with Jesus, devoted to Him in prayer and the study of His Word.
• Equipping believers whose lives have been transformed and enabled by God's Grace - who possess an understanding of not only what it means to be saved by His Grace through faith alone, but also what it means to live by His Grace through faith alone-to live the Christian life and to serve the Lord in the power of the Holy Spirit.
• Building a strong, loving congregation at Cayman Islands Baptist Church which will model for the churches of the Cayman Islands and beyond a New Testament church in a 21st century world, graceful and Spirit-led in all we do and faithful and biblical in all we believe!
